PUSH and AISA – Associazione Italiana Studenti di Architettura – launch the workshop Sant’Anna Jamming.
Piazza Sant’Anna is the name of a beautiful square in Palermo, which has been a parking area for years and that now is finally free from cars, showing its baroque beauty. Unfortunately during the last year it remained empty and unused, risking to become an urban void.
To give meaning to one of the most important squares of the city, PUSH and AISA decided to organize a thematic workshop for the students of Architecture of the University of Palermo, with the aim of finding creative and low-cost solutions for the regeneration of this space.
After this creative marathon of 48 hours, the projects of the groups will be uploaded on a web platform and valued by the citizens. The two most voted solutions will be presented to the Municipality of Palermo.
The workshop will take place on Friday 27, Saturday 28 and Sunday 29 November at Blow Up, in Piazza Sant’Anna.
On Sunday 29 at 3.30 p.m. at Modern Art Museum of Palermo (via Sant’Anna 21) there will be a final conference of the workshop, during which all the projects developed by the teams will be presented. Everyone’s invited!
From 27 to 29 June 2014, Selinunte will host the Fourth International meeting “Architects meet in Selinunte_OFF”, conceived and organized by Associazione Italiana di Architettura e Critica and presS/TFactory.
The program includes several meetings and discussions, classified by themes, but also video screenings, exhibitions and awardds. It will be a great opportunity to better understand the role of architecture today, from the position of young students on contemporay architecture- expressed by ad hoc videos- to the role of architecture as an instrument to fight against the crisis and look forward to future for Sicily.
On Friday 27 from 15, during the debate “New Ideas”– when young italian innovators will present their ideas- Salvatore Di Dio will talk about the experience of PUSH, how it was born and its role on the territory.
The event will be held in Teatro Selinus in Castelvetrano, from 10 a.m. and admission will be free. You can sign up directly there or writing an email to firstname.lastname@example.org.

PUSH is in a partnership with Open House Roma, the annual event- organized by the Association Open City Roma- that in a weekend gives free access to hundreds of buildings, remarkable for their architectural and artistic peculiarities. Particular attention is paid to modern and contemporary heritage, without ignoring the historical one.
The event is totally free and it makes possible the visit to all the scheduled places and events, thanks to guided tours organized by the designers and by the architecture students of Rome Universities.
Furthermore, there will be pedestrian, cycle tours and special events aimed at discovering the hidden treasures of the Capital: these spaces are usually closed to public fruition because of their daily functions.
The App created by PUSH, will allow visitors to plan their tours during the two days of the event.
Each user will be able to explore the list of all the scheduled locations and events, sorting them accordingly to the distance measured by georeferenziation and filtering them accordingly to needs and preferences (historic period, author, date and opening hours, etc.)
They will have the opportunity to consult also technical fact sheets of each location, add them as “favourites”, book the visit and share their own experience on social networks.
The App is available both for iOS and Android devices.
