PS-U-GO (Participatory Skills for Sustainable Urban Governance) aims to redefine Urban Living Labs as educational and participatory spaces where students, residents, urban planners, and policymakers co-create solutions to real urban challenges. Through collaborative learning and co-designed interventions, PS-U-GO fosters civic engagement, enhances participatory skills, and supports sustainable, community-driven urban transformation in Cottbus, Naples, Nicosia, and Palermo.

PUSH animated the Madonie Living Lab in Petralia Sottana (Palermo) through Open MaLL, an intensive three-month programme (March–May 2025) structured in three residential weekends alternating with asynchronous work phases and online research. The programme, free for participants, included training sessions on digital fabrication, social photography, design in marginal contexts and a workshop on inclusivity and the unlearning by doing approach.
Twenty-five participants, both locals and students, organized themselves into four thematic groups following shared interests and values: Metamadonie (collective memory and storytelling), Civico Museo (heritage education and youth creativity), Madonie Maker Week (craftsmanship and digital fabrication) and Mad Chef (culinary traditions and gastronomic knowledge).
The activities engaged the local community through interviews, workshops and exhibitions, culminating in an Urban Showcase that presented the results and prototypes developed, giving visibility to the space and creating new territorial synergies.
The project is funded by the Erasmus+ programme.
