We have just landed in Spain to participate to the third edition of di Smart City Expo, the world most important event regarding smart cities, which will take place on 19-21 November 2013 in Barcelona. Over 300 hundred experts and policy makers from all over the world will present the projects and the most innovative solutions to make the city users’ daily experience truly smart.

“Setting the Stage for a Smarter World” is the theme of the 2013 edition, where PUSH will participate with trafficO2 within the area devoted to Italian projects at the PONREC. This event is a prestigious international showcase, but also a unique occasion to exchange experiences and plan the development of the smart cities of the future.

Registration to the workshop “Mobility, Behaviors: Apps” is now officially open. This workshop – organized in collaboration with Università degli Studi di Palermo and is open to the students of the School of Architecture, Engineering, and Education will give them the opportunity to work concretely on a social innovation project in interdisciplinary teams with colleagues of other schools and coordinated by tutors that will offer their technical and professional expertise

“Mobility, Behaviors: Apps” will be a full  three-day event rich in initiatives where project will be concretely designed and there will be in-depth discussions on specific topics, also thanks to the collaboration with two technical partners, the Istituto Superiore Mario Boella in Turino, Google Developer Group in Palermo, and

We Are Social, a conversation agency based in Milan.

Press conference for the presentation of the trafficO2  project –social network for sustainable mobility and for the “Mobility, Behaviors: Apps” workshop, organized in collaboration with the University of Palermo.
The press conference will be held on October 26th at 10:30am, at the beautiful location, Sala delle Capriate of the monumental complex of Palazzo Chiaramonte Steri, Piazza Marina n. 41, Palermo.

trafficO2will be in Naples to participate to the sixth edition of Light, an event organized by the National Council of Science and by Triplan, which will be held on September 27th at theCittà della Scienza.

This is a unique occasion to familiarize, understand, and play with the last discoveries of the Italian and European research.

Light is included in Researches’ Night, a European event that will take place simultaneously in 350 different cities with the goal of soliciting visitors’ interest in science and technology. It will be a night dedicated to researches and their discoveries, so to stimulate people’s curiosity through edutainment, combining science and fun.

In-depth analysis will be devoted to the different topics covered in the event – ranked by the EU as “project of excellence in the field of scientific communication” – such as energetic sustainability, biotechnologies, social innovation, mobility, nano-techonologies, and so forth.

trafficO2 team, in white coats, will welcome the visitors and examine their habits with regard to public transportation, as if they were checking their medical history. Those who will show a more “sustainable behavior” will received trafficO2 customized gadgets.

Light will take place Friday 27 September from 6 pm to 1 am at the Città della Scienza in Naples. Free admittance.

trafficO2 was in Salerno for AICA’s 50th national congress, event organized in collaboration with the University of Salerno, which will be held at the Fisciano campus from September 18th to September 20th.

Digital Frontiers: from Digital Divide to Smart Society”, the theme of the 2013 edition. In fact, during the three days researchers, faculty and professionals of the ICT field will meet to evaluate in which way our Country is preparing to face the future challenges to smart, sustainable and inclusive growth, as an answer and in accordance to the European research and innovation strategies.

The focuses of the summit were all of the initiatives and researches on themes such as climate change, security, energy and food resupply, health and mobility. These are themes in which ICT plays an important role in supporting innovation.

The trafficO2 team, which was awarded the contract “Smart Cities and Communities and Social Innovation” promoted by MIUR in 2012, will take part in the round table “Smart Mobility and Social Innovation”, scheduled on Thursday September 19th at 4pm.

The guest speakers, among others, will be Antonio Pescapè, form the University of Naples, Anna Donati, appointed by the mayor of Naples for sustainable mobility and Fabrizio Cobis, director of the special programs of research and distribution of scientific culture at MIUR.

The PUSH team was at the Smart City Exhibition held in Bologna from October 29th to the 31st 2012: a valuable opportunity to share the trafficO2 project, ideas and feedback on the quality of the work carried out till now.

The event discussed the target lifestyle within an urban ecosystem, with the focus on energetic sustainability and efficiency. Three days full of frenetic meetings and activities that typically characterize these events.

A once in a life time valuable opportunity to compare projects with the most promising realities about Smart Cities, gaining inspiration from the best Italian and international experiences and identifying promising models of participative Governance, with foreseeing strategies of integration between social and urban capital.

The participation to SCE was also the opportunity to launch the official trafficO2 twitter account, and to present the project within the laboratory

We gained many ideas and input to continue working on our project for a smarter mobility in Palermo.
